Como chega o Atlético-GO?

Sport: Maílson; Norberto, Rafael Thyere, Adryelson e Raul Prata; Marcão Silva, Charles e Juninho Piauiense; Yan, Guilherme e Hernane. Técnico: Guto Ferreira.

Atlético-GO: Kozlinski; Jonathan (Reginaldo), Oliveira, Gilvan e Nicolas; André Castro, Moacir e Jorginho; Mike, Rodrigo Rodrigues e Matheus. Técnico: Wesley Lopes.

We can beat any team at home – Mushfiqur

Bangladesh have not lost a bilateral ODI series at home since 2011, and captain Mushfiqur Rahim believes that the trend can continue in the three-match series against Sri Lanka. The last time they lost at home in their favoured format was to Pakistan more than two years ago, with victories coming against West Indies in late 2012 and New Zealand last year, as well as pushing Pakistan in the Asia Cup final in 2012.After a good result against New Zealand in October and November last year, Bangladesh were derailed by a crushing defeat in the first Test against Sri Lanka last month. They bounced back by drawing the second Test match, and then again they lost the two Twenty20s in Chittagong, both off the last ball of the game. The drawn Test match saw a batting resurrection, mainly through Mominul Haque’s perseverance. There was a mix of both batting and bowling improvement in the Twenty20s, and will give them confidence for the rest of the series.”We were not consistent in Tests and T20s but in our home conditions, our line-up is capable of beating any team on our day,” Mushfiqur said. “We have played good cricket in the last 18 months so we are confident. But Sri Lanka is a tough side and it will be a hard competition. We are ready for it.”So far we did lose three matches this year, but were also unlucky not to win two of those. We have plenty of hard cricket ahead in this year. Results-wise, it was disappointing, but we have gradually improved from the first Test. It’s just a matter of time.”Bangladesh will however miss the experience of left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak, who is their leading wicket-taker against Sri Lanka with 19.”We will miss [Abdur Razzak] Raj bhai a lot. Although [Arafat] Sunny bhai has bowled very well in the last two matches, Raj bhai is our most experienced bowler and has the most ODI wickets. I was with him during the last week as he was recovering from the hamstring injury. We want him to be fully fit for the tournaments ahead.”We have four genuine pacers in the side and have a long time to put together a playing XI. Dew factor might come into play and there was overnight rain on Sunday. We might play three pacers or three spinners, it will depend on the dew factor. We are flexible, we have left-arm spinners, pacers and offspinners. We will wait till tomorrow.”The other hindrance for Bangladesh tomorrow will be that Mushfiqur will not keep wickets. The finger injury he picked up during the second Test forced him to miss the two Twenty20s, and he said Anamul Haque or Shamsur Rahman will be wicketkeeper, at least for the first ODI.”I don’t have much pain when I bat. But because it’s in the last finger, keeping will be risky. If I get hit there again, I will be out for a long time. The team management thinks I can do with the bat. We have enough keepers in the side like [Shamsur Rahman] Shuvo and [Anamul Haque] Bijoy. One of them will keep tomorrow.”Despite missing Razzak and Muhfiqur’ keeping skills, Bangladesh will enter the series with plenty of confidence, given their solid recent record in home ODIs.

Final do Paulista?

India win series with 201-run victory

A round-up of the final and 3rd place play-off played on Saturday in the Quadrangular Under-19 Series in Visakhapatnam

ESPNcricinfo staff05-Oct-2013A disciplined bowling performance helped India U-19s complete a massive 201-run victory over South Africa U-19s in Visakhapatnam to win the 2013-14 Quadrangular Under-19 Series. South Africa put India in to bat, and Kagiso Rabada obliged by removing Ankush Bains, fresh from a hundred in the previous match, early with the score on 3. Akhil Herwadkar and Vijay Zol compiled a 51-run partnership to steady the innings. Lower order contributions from Ricky Bhui (46), Sarfaraz Khan (67) and Deepak Hooda (32) ensured India reached a competitive 267 for 6. Zol, the captain, top-scored with 71, with South Africa’s Justin Dill being the pick of the bowlers having taken 3 for 63.South Africa managed a marginally better opening partnership, but found themselves in total disarray when they lost three on the trot with the score on 13. Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals as the batsmen failed to compile substantial partnerships through the innings. Only two players, Jason Smith and Yaseen Valli, were able to get past double digits, as South Africa were skittled for 66. Aamir Gani had best figures of 3 for 18, with Sarfaraz and Kuldeep Yadav chipping with two wickets each.Damien Mortimer’s unbeaten 100 helped Australia U-19s complete a dominating eight-wicket win over Zimbabwe U-19s to win the 3rd place play-off in Visakhapatnam.Zimbabwe batted first, but were unable to string useful partnerships, finding themselves at 72 for 5, primarily because of right-arm seamer Guy Walker who took four of those wickets. A 77-run stand between Ryan Burl and Malcolm Lake, followed by Kieran Geyle’s 38, ensured they put on a competitive 228. Burl finished as top-scorer with 74.Australia’s reply started similarly, as the first wicket fell with the score on 31, but Mortimer and Ben McDermott effectively took the game away with a 143-run partnership. McDermott had provided good support but when he fell on 64, Jake Doran took over the role, scoring an unbeaten 28, as he and Mortimer finished off the game with a little more than eight overs to spare.

India in discussions over DRS compromise

India have been offered a compromise solution in an effort to persuade them to accept the Decision Review System so it can be universally adopted at international level

George Dobell03-Aug-2013

Optimism that India might accept a compromise on DRS have coincided with Jagmohan Dalmiya’s emergency return to BCCI duties•Associated Press

India have been offered a compromise solution in an effort to persuade them to accept the Decision Review System so it can be universally adopted at international level. The BCCI currently refuses to sanction use of the DRS in series involving India and, under the chairmanship of N Srinivasan at the ICC, has declined the recommendation of the ICC’S cricket committee to embrace the DRS in all formats of the game at international level.Supporters of DRS are optimistic, however, that the BCCI’s attitude to the issue has softened and believe that misgivings are now less about the technology and more about the number of reviews allowed in each innings. At present, two unsuccessful reviews are allowed in each Test innings but private discussions have led some to believe that the BCCI favours unlimited reviews.Unlimited reviews are likely to remain unacceptable to the ICC on the grounds that it risks slowing the pace of the game and encourages speculative use of the system. But a compromise has been suggested whereby a side would not lose one of its two reviews if its appeal only failed on the basis of “umpire’s call” – the margin of error built in to give the on-field umpires the benefit of the doubt in marginal decisions. The BCCI declined to comment, but a spokesman did admit that they had been in discussions with the ICC over the issue “for a while.”It may also be relevant that Jagmohan Dalmiya is currently the acting president of the BCCI in the absence of Srinivasan, who temporarily stepped aside to ensure no perception of bias while the BCCI looked into allegations of spot fixing within the IPL.The ICC has also sponsored testing of various ball-tracking methods in recent times, with the results generally vindicating faith in the system. The timing of the news that universal introduction of DRS is back on the agenda is still surprising. The current Investec Ashes series between England and Australia has contained several umpiring controversies and highlighted deficiencies with the DRS system. Indications are that discussions began before the series and may be difficult to maintain. But while the ICC have accepted there have been problems during the Ashes, they feel they have been caused more by failures in protocols or human error than problems with the technology. As a result of the problems, the ICC will consider developing specialist TV umpires and are also using the current Ashes series to trial an updated system whereby the TV umpire will have access to moreimages and technology than ever before rather than being reliant on the broadcaster to provide a limited number of images. It is also possible that overseas umpires could be invited to officiate in county cricket. Up to four or five umpires may be accommodated for up to a season at a time in order for them to gainexperience and add to the number of officials eligible to stand in Ashes series. At present the ICC’s elite list of international umpires contains only four men who can stand in Tests between England and Australia due to the neutrality rules that prevent on-field or TV umpires officiating in games involving their home nation.Billy Bowden, the New Zealand umpire removed from the elite list in June after some modestperformances, may be reinstated in a bid to ease the burden on the four officials involved in the back-to-back Ashes series, and there is an acceptance from the ICC that further reinforcements are required.

Warriors look for revival at home

Preview of the sixth game of IPL 2013, between Pune Warriors and Kings XI Punjab in Pune

The Preview by Siddhartha Talya06-Apr-2013Match factsSunday, April 7, 2013
Start time 1600 (1030 GMT)Robin Uthappa could play a key role at the top of the order•AFP

Big PictureIn a long tournament such as the IPL, one would be wise not to draw large conclusions from some early signs teams might display in their first few games. Pune Warriors would know that well. Last year, they began brightly, winning their first two matches, including one at the superb new stadium on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway in front of a capacity home crowd. Things were looking up, but only temporarily, as Warriors’ fortunes slid rapidly. They won just two of their next 14 games. This season, their campaign has begun with a defeat, in a game they should have won, and Warriors will be hoping for a reversal that’s as stark as the one they experienced in 2012. They were tied down in a small chase by some excellent bowling by Sunrisers Hyderabad, and their batting needs to come good against the Kings XI Punjab attack that can be a tricky opponent.Kings XI Punjab are heavy on medium-pace and spin options that can restrict sides on slowish tracks, and the Subroto Roy Sahara Stadium appeared to produce a mixed bag last year, with several scores above 150 as well as totals as low as 121 that were successfully defended. Punjab have had their own concerns with deceptive starts. They had an impressive first season, but didn’t make it to the knockouts in the next four. Last season, they didn’t win more than two games on the trot and had a poor spell at home, just as Pune did.Players to watchRobin Uthappa and Manish Pandey, both from Karnataka, can be an explosive duo at the top of the order, but found the going difficult against Dale Steyn in the first game. Both opened last season, but not regularly and never together. Uthappa did slightly better than his partner, amid frequent shuffling in the batting line-up, but how they – attacking batsmen who love to dominate the bowling – perform in tandem remains to be seen. They did provide an indication, with a 145-run stand, albeit in a losing cause last year.Parvinder Awana was in the limelight last IPL season with 17 wickets from 12 games, impressing many with his pace, at one point clocking 147 kmph against Mumbai Indians. He was ignored by selectors for the India A tour to the Caribbean last year, but a strong performance in the Ranji Trophy for Delhi won him a call-up to India’s Test squad during the series against England. Among the quicker bowlers in India, he’ll be closely monitored again.2012 head-to-headThese two teams played back-to-back games last season, and shared honours. Warriors beat Kings XI by 22 runs in the first game. The second one was a low-scorer, with Warriors being bowled out for 115 and Kings XI chasing it down comfortably. Dimitri Mascarenhas picked up a five-for.Stats and trivia Pune Warriors have played 31 IPL games in all, but are yet to have a centurion. David Hussey stands an excellent chance of completing 5000 runs in T20 cricket. He is on 4821 currently, 75 behind Chris Gayle and 453 behind leader Brad Hodge. Quotes”I have brought about some technical changes in my batting, and at the moment it is working for me. I am happy [with] the way I am batting right now.”

“In the last two seasons, we have been in the running for a semi-finals [berth] till [our] last game. We have strengthened the squad from last year.”
